Re: SS La Plata

Dear friends, after a long search I found news about the ship La Plata. It was built in 1882 as MOOR. Sold to the RMSC in 1901 it was renamed LA PLATA. Until 1908 it served on the Great Britain-West Indies route. For more information see: http://www.clydeships.co.uk/view.php?ref=22373 Best regards, ...

SS La Plata

Good morning, sir,
Can anyone give me news about this ship (see scan) that on this stamp of Montserrat is reported as LA PLATA (1901)?
Is it the RMS LA PLATA or LA PLATA of the French Messagerie Maritime?
Thank you in advance for the help you can give me.

The depicted ship on this postcard is japanese cruiser Chokai.
Can you tell me if it is a military mail postal stationery or an publicity postcard?
Can someone translate the writing from Japanese into English?

Regards

On the Newfounland stamp (10 c. - 1897) is featured a sailing ship, may be a Columbus ship.
