BAHAMA STAR

Post by aukepalmhof » Wed Jun 30, 2010 9:09 pm

According to Navicula the photo after which the stamp was designed was taken around 1974/75
Also they did not mention "BAHAMA STAR" depict on the stamp as given by Stanley Gibbon collect ships on stamps. The "BAHAMA STAR" at that time was already lost on 13 April 1970 under the name "LA JENELLE". So she can not be on the stamp. The vessel can only be the "BAHAMA STAR" ex "JERUSALEM" which sailed between 1972 and 1975 under that name for the Eastern Steamship. She has also carried the names "NEW BAHAMA STAR" and "BONAIRE STAR" before lost on 03 Oct. 1979 under tow in the Pacific for the scrapyard.
