Steamer services have been operated since 1826 on the Jura Lakes (Neuchatel, Murten and Bieler). During the early years regional passenger and goods traffic was the principal business.
Now only used for tourist cruises on the lakes.

The VILLE DE NEUCHATEL was built by the Austrian shipyard in Linz/Donau for the Societe de Navigations sur les Lacs de Neuchatel et de Morat (LNM).
Tonnage 186 ton, dim. 47.0 (bpp) x 7.4m.
Powered by two 6-cyl. 380 hp GM diesel engines.
Passenger capacity 530.
1972 Completed.

She is a flat-bottom saloon type motor ship typical of the lakes and canals at the foot of the Jura Mountains.
2010 In service.
