Passenger liner built 1965 at Howaldtswerke, Hamburg AG for Hadag Seetouistik u Fahrdienet, Hamburg.
4438Gt. 2559Nt. 635Dwt.
Length 359ft 8in. B49ft 9in. Dr19ft 2in. Dp53ft.
Two MAN diesels 12cyl 10160bhp 21.5knts.

Built as passenger ship under yard No 973 by Howaldtswerke Hamburg A.G., Hamburg, Germany for HADAG in Hamburg.
16 February 1965 launched as the WAPPEN VON HAMBURG.
Tonnage 4,473 grt, 2,559 net, 635 net, dim. 109.63 x 15.17 x 4.17m. (draught).
Powered by two 12-cyl. Man diesel engines, 5,085 bhp. each, twin shafts, speed 22 knots.
One bow thruster.
5 Decks
Accommodation for 1938 day passengers.
10 May 1965 completed.

May 1965 used in the service from Hamburg via Cuxhaven to Helgoland.
It was original planned that the WAPPEN VON HAMBURG in the summer months was used in the Hamburg to Helgoland service and in the winter months as a cruise ships in warmer waters.
As cruise vessel she had accommodation for 212 passengers.
October 1965 renamed in LUCAYA after she was chartered by the Norddeutschen Immobilien & Verwaltings GmbH, Germany for a winter charter from Miami, USA to Nassau
10 October 1965 sailed for Miami.
After the charter was finished in May 1966, she was never used again as cruise vessel in the Caribbean. Again renamed in WAPPEN VON HAMBURG, returned to her service from Hamburg via Cuxhaven to Helgoland.
Between 1967 and 1983 during the winter season used as a floating restaurant near the Landungsbrücken in Hamburg.
20 August 1969 Registered for HADAG Seetouristik & Fahrdienst AG, Hamburg.
16 March 1976 her hull was decorated with painted flowers for a flower show.
1976 Sold to Kommanditgesellschaft MS “Wappen von Hamburg” Jacobsen Kröger & Co., Hamburg.
1981 Sold to Deutsche Leasing AG, Hamburg.
1983 Sold to KG Seetouristik GmbH & Co. KG, Flensburg, Germany.
01 March 1984 delivered to new owners and modernized by the Sietas yard in Hamburg
1984 Used again in the Hamburg via Cuxhaven to Helgoland service. During the summer from April till October.
01 October 1984 made two voyages from Flensburg to Denmark, then again in the Hamburg to Helgoland service.
October 2005 laid up for the season in Bremerhaven.
30 September 2006 she made the last voyage from Cuxhaven to Helgoland
December 2006 out of service.
31 May 2007 sold to Mercator Shipping Corporation, British Virgin Islands, she was renamed in Cuxhaven in MERCATOR II. Registered in Panama.
15 June 2007 she made a farewell voyage to Helgoland from Cuxhaven, thereafter she sailed to the fishing port of Bremerhaven were she would be converted in a luxury cruise ship for 36 passengers.
After completing she would be used in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.
End December 2008 the project failed and work on the ship was halted.
With an almost complete removed superstructure she stayed in Bremerhaven till November 2010.
She was towed then by the Danish tug LUNA A to Esbjerg where she is recycled (scrapped) by Smedegaarden in Esbjerg, Denmark.
