BARCO POVEIRO

The POVEIRO is mostly used north of the River Douro till Galicia in Portugal as coastal or deep sea fishing boat.
The vessel depict is the SAN PEDRO and she carried the symbols of the zodiac Cancer and Crab.
She has a curved stem, sternpost somewhat raked. Deep outboard rudder with a tiller.
Lightly planked; closely spaced ribs; flat floors.
Carried one mast which carried a Breton mizzen sail.
Some are decked on bow and stern other are fully decked.
Can also rowed by four or seven oars.
Crew depends on length from 2 - 32
The vessel depict her dimensions are 16.45 x 4.11 x 1.60m.
