15 November 1990 completed.

First used as a research vessel but later converted in a polar expedition ship for 34 passengers.

08 August 2007 at approximate 16.30 when she was sailing in the Hornsund, Spitsbergen with on board mostly British passengers, she sailed very near to the glacier to give the passengers a good look of the glacier Storbeen. When she was at a distance of around 34 metres off the glacier the glacier calved and a large piece of ice fell into the sea. The calving caused a wave which washed over the ship, and the ship heeled over to starboard then to port and so back, with the water washing over the ship big pieces of ice came with it, wherein 23 persons were injured, several of them seriously with broken bones, muscle injuries etc.
At that time she was managed by Oceanwide Expeditions BV at Vlissingen, Netherlands.

2011 In service as given by http://www.equasis.org Owned and managed by the Russian Govt. Hydrographic Dept., St Petersburg. Home port Arkhangelsk IMO No 8909329.
