XINSHENG HAI bulker

To commemorate China’s Ocean Shipping Industry China Post issued two stamps of $1.20 in 2011.
The bulker XINSHENG HAI is depict sailing at the harbour of Sydney, Australia.

Built as a cap-size bulk carrier under yard No 1438 by Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd., Sakaida, Japan for Nippon Yesen Kabushiki, Kaisha, Japan.
17 March 1988 keel laid down
23 June 1988 launched as the CHITA MARU.
Tonnage 93,310 gross, 59,411 net, 182,008 dwt. Dim. 290.03 x 46.0 x 24.80m, length bpp. 280.0m. Draught 18.22m
Powered by one 2 SA 6-cyl diesel engine, manufactured by builder, 19,100 hp (14,048kW), speed 13 knots.
Bunker capacity 5,473 m³. Trial speed 16.9 knots.
Cargo capacity 199,752 m³.
23 February 1989 delivered to owners.

1999 Sold to Serene Mar. Ltd., Panama and renamed TOPAZ.
2001 Renamed by owners in XINSHENG HAI and transferred to Hong Kong register, managed by Cosco Bulk, Tiajin, China.
May 2009 sold to Blue Harvest Maritime Inc., Tianjin.

2011 In service. IMO No 8806094, same owner and manager, under Panama flag and registry.
15 February 2014 arrived Xinhui , China and was scrapped by Jiangmen Xinhui Shuangshui Shipbreaking & Steel Co.
