Built as a side trawler fishing vessel by Chantier Socarénam at Boulogne sur Mer for Maes at Dunkerque (Dunkirk), France.
Launched as JONATHAN fishing No DK 779907.

1991 Completed.
October 1996 bought by the Gendarmarie Maritime in France and converted at the LNI and DCN sites in Lorient in a patrol boat from October 1996 until June 1997.
Displacement 550 ton standard, 680 ton full load.
Powered by one Stork-Wärtsilä 8-240G diesel engine, 1,200 hp, speed 12 knots. Variable pitch propeller. (Not sure it is the original engine.)
One bow thruster.
Range by a speed of 12 knots, 3,500 mile.
Armament 1 – 12.7mm gun.
Crew 1 officer and 8 crew.
One inflatable type Hurricane 630 craft, powered by a Volvo 200 hp jet.
28 October 1997 commissioned as the FULMAR (P 740). Named after the seabird Petrel Fulmar.
She is now based in Saint Pierre, St Pierre et Miquelon and used by the Gendarmarie Maritime (Coast Guard) for patrol in the waters around the island and monitoring the fisheries of the banks of Newfoundland.
01 July 2009 transferred to the French Navy.
2018 In service still based at Saint Pierre.
