Built as a fast attack missile craft type TNC-45 by the Friedrich Lürssen yard in Vegasack, Germany for the Royal Bahrain Navy.
She is the lead ship of her class of which four were built by Lürssen.
Launched as the RBNS AHMED AL FATEH (20).
Displacement 228 tons standard, 259 tons full load. Dim.44.9 x 7.0 x 2.5 m. (draught)
Powered by four MTU 16V 538 TB92 diesel engines, 15,395 hp., four shafts, speed 41.5 knots.
Range by a speed of 16 knots, 1,740 mile, steaming on two engines.
Armament: 4 – MM40 Exocet SSM missiles. 1 – 76mm OTO Melara DP. 2 – 40mm Breda AA. 2 – 12.7 mm M3 MG.
Crew 36.
05 February 1984 commissioned. Homeport Mina Sulman.

The class has been overhauled.
2011 In service by the Bahrain Royal Navy.
