Built as a Sixth Rate by the Deptford Drydock by the Master Shipwright Fisher Harding for the British Navy..
21 July 1693 ordered.
17 January 1694 launched as HMS JERSEY.
Tonnage 262 ton (bm), dim. 28.8 x 7.52 x 3.52m., length of keel 24.69m.
Armament: 20 x sakers, later replaced by 6 pdr. guns on upper deck and 4 smaller guns on the quarter deck.
Crew 110.
19 March 1694 commissioned under command of Lieut. John Triggs.

1697 With a convoy to the West Indies
10 March 1697 under command of Captain Edmond Bugden, he was dismissed by court martial in 1697.
21 October 1698 renamed in HMS MARGATE.
1700 She sailed to America and the West Indies.
1702 Used as a survey vessel on the Irish coast.
1703 In service in the North Sea.
1704/05 Stationed in the Leeward Islands.
1706 In the U.K.
July 1707 sailed for the Leeward Islands.
09 October 1707 wrecked near Cartagena, Columbia on the coast.
