Built as a tug/fire fighter under yard NO63 by East Island Shipyard Ltd, Georgetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada for J.D Irving Ltd, St John’s, Canada.
Tonnage 397 grt, 119 nrt, 580 dwt. Dim. 30.8 x 11.1 x 4.8m. (draught)
Powered by two Caterpillar Type 3516 TA diesels 4,004 bhp, speed without tow 12.5 knots.
Bollard pull, 50 tonnes ahead, 47 tonnes astern.
Accommodation, 1 single cabin and 2 double cabins.
August 1995 completed.

1997 Sold to Lee Towage Ltd, Cork Ireland, renamed ALEX.
Manager: Østensjø Rederi AS, Haugesund, Norway

Lee Towage Limited, Cork is a wholly owned subsidiary of Østensjø Rederi AS. Lee Towage operates the tug ALEX, and the tug THRAX, and provides tug services including fire-fighting and oil pollution control for Conoco Phillips Whitegate Refinery (Thrax) and Bantry Bay (Thrax). In addition the company undertakes harbour towage within Port of Cork harbour district.

2013 In service, same name and owner, IMO No 9112741.
