Built in 1922 by Harland & Wolff, Glasgow, for the Holland Amerika Lijn, Rotterdam.
Freighter, Gt:9399, Nt:5814, Dw:8534, Loa:152,70m. Lbp:147,98m. B:18,97m. Depth:10,87m. 2-8 cyl. Harland/Burmeister & Wain diesel engines:1817 nhp. 2 propellers, 13 kn. pass:19, later:30.
Short history:
The motor vessel Dinteldijk was on 14-5-1940 in Rotterdam and was on 13-9-1944
advanced by the occupying forces to serve as a blockship.
23-9-1944 in the Nieuwe Waterweg against the right bank 3 km. above Maassluis
by the Germans sunk as blockship; thereupon behind the bridge broken.
After the liberation the wreck in May\June1945 cleared up, the last remnants in1947/48.
