K-3 Submarine

K-3 1938
This submarine built by the Marti Yard at Leningrad and was an ocean going type. She was 308' long with a breadth of 23' and a draught of 13', displacement was 1480 and 2095 tons. Two diesels of 4200hp gave a surface speed of 22.5 knots and two motors of 1200hp gave a submerged speed of 10 knots.
Armament was two 4inch guns and two 45mm AA guns with ten 2l inch torpedo tubes.
K-3 was transferred from the Baltic to the Northern Fleet via the Stalin Canal in August 1941. Captain 2nd Class Ghadziev was awarded the Hero of the Soviet Union for sinking German patrol craft.
K-3 was sunk on 21st March 1943 by German surface craft off Batstjord.
