12 December 1926 commissioned.
Built by the Electric Boat Corp. Groton Conn. Rl had a length of 200' with a breadth of 17' and a draught of 15'. Displacement was 575 and 755 tons. Two Nelseco diesels of 88hp and two motors of 1000hp gave a surface speed of 14.5 knots and a submerged speed of 9.5 knots. Armament was four 2 linch bow torpedoes and
one 3inch gun. A crew of 30 was carried. She received a refit in 1956 and was renamed Islay in 1957. Taken out of service in 1960.
