Made with an iron hull of oval triangle cross sections. It was possible by divers to enter the submarine when submerged via a chamber on the forepart of the submarine.
The ballast tank was blown by compressed air.
19 June 1866 the first dive took place which was successful, she withstood a depth of 25 metre.
1871 She made a dive to almost 30 metre but at that depth the hull was crushed.
In 1871 was the wreck raised and scrapped.
