Built in 1953-'54 by John I. Thornycroft & Company, Southampton as HMS HAZLETON for the Royal Navy.
'Ton' class minesweeper, displacement: 440 long tons (447 t.) Length:46.33m. (152') Beam:8.53m. (28') Draught:2.44m. (8') originally 2 Mirrlees diesels, later 2 Napier Deltic diesels:3000 shp. (2200 kW.) on each of the two shafts, 15 kn. armament: 1 Bofors 40 mm. gun, 1 Oerlikon 20 mm. canon ór 1 M2 Browning machine gun, crew:33.
Scrapped at Table Bay in 1989.
