Built as a Type 903A replenishment ship by the Guangzhou Shipyard International, Guangzhou, China for the Chinese Navy.
22 March 2012 launched as the TAIHU 889.
Displacement 23,000 tons full load, dim. 178.5 x 24.8 x 8.7m. (draught)
Powered by two diesel engines 24,000 hp, twin shafts, speed 19 knots.
Range by a speed of 14 knots, 10,000 mile.
Crew 130.
Carried two Z-8 helicopters and is fitted out with a hangar and a flight deck.
18 June 2013 commissioned.

The Qiandaohu-class or Type 903 replenishment ship (NATO codename: Fuchi) entered service with the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy in 2003. The class' chief designer was Zhang Wende . After two units completed, a pair of slightly modified units designated as Type 903A followed, and the main difference between Type 903 and Type 903A is that the displacement of the latter is increased to 23,000 tons from the original 20,500 ton.
