For the HAFNIA Exhibidition 1987 the Danish Post issued a souvenir sheet which depict means of transport, the 250 ore depict a boat pulled over the ice.
Named by the Danish people an isbåt (iceboat), the Aak to Zumbra gives on the isbåd: Open sailing/rowing boat that maintained winter ferry service in the Store Belt (Great Belt); the boat was pulled and pushed across frozen sections while the passengers walked. Strong clinker construction of oak; ironshod keel; cutaway forefoot. Top strake continued aft to form a small transom that also served as a name board. When being manoeuvred across the ice the oars were placed across the gunwales to keep the boat on an even keel. Exterior painted black.
Sailed with spritsail, staysail and jib.
Crew of 5 – 6.
Length 6.6m, beam 2m, depth 0,84m, draught 0.47m.

Denmark 1986 250 ore, sgMS817, scott
