Built in 1890 by Russell & Co., Port Glasgow, for Strathgryfe Shipping Co., Greenock.
Iron 4mast barque, Gt:2276, Nt:2190, Loa:85,13m. B:12,71m. D:7,41m.
In 1895 sold to D. McGillivray, Greenock.
In 1903 stranded at Wilson Promotory, Australia and remained there until she was salvaged the following year.
06-1905 Sailed from Newcastle N.S.W. for Pisaqua with a cargo of coal, 12 days out she was hit by a squall wich carried away the topgallant masts. The coal cargo shifted and she was in a dangerous position for several days until she could be righted again.
1910 Sailed from Dungeness to Australia in 82 days. The best 24 hour distance covered was 297 nm.
30-07-1910 sold to Hans Hinrich Schmidt, Hamburg, for £3850, renamed MARGARETHA.
1914 Seized by the Portuguese Government at Ponta Delgada (Azores) and sold to Portuguese owners, renamed GRACIOSA.
On 24-08-1918 while on voyage from North Shields to Lobito Bay she was discovered and sunk with a torpedo by the German submarine U 90 in position 59°N. 5°W.
