Built as a destroyer under yard no 471 by John I. Thornycroft at Woolston, Southampton for the Royal Navy.
24 June 1907 laid down.
29 July 1908 launched as the HMS AMAZON one of the Tribal class.
Displacement 986 ton, dim. 85.45 (bpp) 8.13 x 3.0m. (draught)
Powered by three steam turbines, 14,000 shp., three shafts, speed 33 knots.
Range by a speed of 15 knots, 1,400 mile.
Armament: 3 – 12 pdr. QF guns, 2- 4 inch torpedo tubes.
Crew 68.
07 April 1909 commissioned.

During the First World War she served in the North Sea and the English Channel as a unit of the 6th Destroyer Flotilla.
22 October 1919 sold for scrap, broken up in Preston by T.W. Ward.
