The yards where still today this boats are built are situated at Santo Amaro on Pico Island which has been so long as anyone can remembered the boat building centre of the Azores Islands, all kind of wooden boats are built there like fishing boats, whaleboats, dories, launches and sometimes model boats, using traditional methods.
