Built by Oregon Shipbuilding Corp., Portland, #101 as CRANSTON VICTORY, for the US War Shipping Adminstration, laid down 13-03-1944, launched 05-05-'44, completed 25-05-'44, managed by South Atlantic Steamship Co., Savannah.
Troopship of the 'Victory VC2-S-AP3 class, Gt:7623, L:138,75m. B:18,88m. D:11,58m. Draft:6,68m. 2 General Electric compound steam engines:8500 hp. 17 kn.
in '47 purchased by the State of the Netherlands, managed by Koninklijke Rotterdamsche Lloyd as trooptransporter to Dutch Indies and New Guinea.
In '51 converted into emigrant ship by Nederlandsche Dok & Scheepsbouw Maatschappij, Amsterdam, Gt:6126, pass:841. In '61 transferred to Scheepvaartmaatschappij Trans Ocean, 's Gravenhage, in '62 converted into a lodging-and storage ship for the Royal Dutch Navy, Den Helder, pennant number A-853.
29-10-'69 sold for scrap to Intershitra, Rotterdam, demolished in Bilbao, Spain.
