Built as an offshore patrol vessel by Cotecmar, Cartagena, Columbia for the Ministry of National Defence of Columbia.
March 2009 laid down.
Launched as the 20 DE JULIO (PZE-46) One of the German Fassmer-OPV80 class.
Displacement 1,723 ton, dim. 80.60 x 13.00 x 3.80m. (draught)
Powered diesel electric by 4 Wärtsilä 6l.26 diesels, 4,800 bhp., twin shafts, 2 Azipod, speed 18 knots.
Range by as speed of 12 knots, 10,000 mile.
One Oto-Mellara twin hol/70 gun.
Crew 64 and accommodation for 36 troops.
03 February 2012 commissioned.

The ARC 20 DE JULIO (PZE-46) is a patrol boat of the exclusive economic zone of the Navy of the Republic of Colombia acquired 2010 as a fight against drug trafficking.
The unit is of the Fassmer-80 class was built in Cartagena, Colombia, under license. The German company Fassmer sells the worldwide license of this model.
History
The National Navy within the so-called Orion Project, in which it is necessary to continue with the development of the Coast Guard component, for these purposes, the Ministry of National Defense and the National Navy of Columbia signed a contract with COTECMAR for Licensing of designs and engineering. Basic, detailed engineering development, construction, testing and commissioning of a medium-sized patrol vessel.
In 2008 with serious regional threats, it was decided to change the type of ship to a PZEE (patrol of exclusive economic zone).
COTECMAR in turn and after a process where they received from several international shipbuilders offers, chose as design OPV Fassmer 80. This design, which is already in service in the Chilean Navy. Which had built on the shipyards of Asmar, Chile the patrol vessels PARDO 2 and COMMANDER TORO and MARINERO FUENTEABA, which is a patrol-craft of the Exclusive Economic Zone of 80 m of length and 13 m of beam, with an expected displacement of 1723 tons.
The Colombian Navy modified in some respects the original design, with the purpose of making it more flexible operationally, adapting it efficiently to the needs of the National Navy and making it basically an excellent support platform capable of fulfilling multiple tasks in a first range of Low-intensity conflicts.
Mission and Operations
Develop naval operations with the purpose of contributing to guarantee defense, security and protection in the maritime jurisdiction of the Caribbean naval force. The operations to which they can be assigned are:
Maritime support.
Surveillance of sovereignty.
Disaster help.
Environmental Protection.
Surface warfare in low intensity conflicts.
Personal transportation.
Cargo transportation.
Technical intelligence.
