Dumbravа Constantin (born April 13, 1898, Buhuşi - d. September 22, 1935, Cannes) was a naturalist, glaceologist and Romanian polar researcher. He is considered one of the most valuable Romanian naturalists. He graduated in France and Belgium, became a doctor of science and settled in New York, where he prepared his three expeditions: 1925, for four months, on the Greenland coast; 1927, with a total duration of 14 months; 1934, "when the balloon in which it collapsed collapsed in the frozen North Ocean, near Angmasalik in the Land of King Christian". The Romanian Expedition in Greenland (1927-1928), the largest island of the Earth (2 175 600 km2), discovered by Eric the Red in 986, took place under the auspices of the French Geography Society and the Belgian Royal Society of Geography, with funds provided by the Philadelphia Geography Society, the New York Exploration Club and the University of Michigan (USA). He proposed to make meteorological observations (cyclone and anticyclone movement, properties of sea and crest ice, sea water temperature, tides, marine currents), botanical, zoological, ethnographic, geomorphological, etc.
Romania 1986; 3L.
