The second MARATANZA was built as SS VIRGINIA in 1941 by Mueller Boat Works, Brooklyn, N.Y.; acquired by the Navy at Fairhaven, Mass., 2 July 1942, on bareboat charter from Schooner Virginia Co., Inc., of New York; converted by Boston Navy Yard; and placed in service as YP 448, 23 September 1942.
Armed with 3-20mm AA gun mounts.
YP 448 served the Naval Districts of the eastern seaboard as a district patrol craft throughout World War II, operating primarily in the 7th Naval District out of Miami, Mayport, and Key West. Redesignated IX 200, 15 December 1944, she was named MARATANZA 4 days later. During her last year of service, she used special underwater search equipment in assignments under the District Mine Warfare Officer. Placed out of service 7 November 1945, MARATANZA berthed at Miami until towed to the 1st Naval District in spring 1946. On 31 July 1947 she was transferred to the Maritime Commission for return to her former owner.
1948 Registered by Trawler Fordham, Inc., Portland, Maine and renamed ARAHO (other source gives ALAHA.) as a fishing vessel. At that time she was fitted out with two masts, schooner rigged.
1963 Registered by Cosimo Parco, Gloucester, Mass. As the 119 ton fishing vessel ST CATHERINE.
1968 Registered by Lady in Blue Inc., Gloucester, renamed in the LADY IN BLUE.
1986 Registered by Steven F. Pagles, Addison, Maine and registered as a 98 ton passenger ship, renamed in NATALIE TODD with homeport Boston, Mass.
She was converted in a sailing passenger vessel in Thomaston Maine, the work took almost a year.

Accommodation for 100 persons on day trips and 38 guests for overnight voyages, crew 4. She acquired her third mast, she was renamed NATALIE TODD and operated as a charter boat out of Bar Harbor, Maine.
In October 1996, she was purchased by the American Heritage Maritime Institute (AHMI) and renamed AMERICAN PRIDE and sailed to California via the Panama Canal. The administrating foundation name was changed to the Children's Maritime Foundation, a not-for-profit organization.
American Pride was formally gifted to the Giving Center (a nationwide 501(c)3 not for profit charitable organization) in April 2017. The Giving Center is an education based charity based out of Nevada. The ship was recently impounded by the City of Long Beach.
In August 2018, the City of Long Beach transferred ownership to the Los Angeles Maritime Institute (LAMI).
