Le VICTORIA stern trawler

St Pierre et Miquelon issued one stamp in 2019 which depict the French trawler VICTORIA which foundered on 18 January 1979.

Built as a stern trawler factory vessel under yard no 268 by Chantier France-Gironde, Bordeaux for La Peche au Large, Bordeaux.
Launched as the VICTORIA.
Tonnage 1291 grt, 1321 dwt, dim. 76.99 x 12.43 x 7.90m.
Powered by one MWM diesel engine 1700 hp, speed 14.5 knots.
June 1970 delivered to owners, homeport Bordeaux IMO No 7005243.

1977 Sold to Society Nouvelle des Peches Lointaines, Bordeaux, not renamed.
18 January 1979 she foundered in the Gulf of St Lawrence near St George, Newfoundland in position 48 43N 59 18W.
The 51 crewmen on board escaped without injury.
