SHIP STAMP SOCIETY

SHIP STAMP SOCIETY

Interested in Ships and Stamps? The Ship Stamp Society is an international society and publishes it’s journal, Log Book, six time a year.

The editor of Log book will retire this coming August and, unless a new one comes forward, the society will close.
With this in mind, we are not taking in any new members.
This is an unfortunate situation but seemingly unavoidable.

St Pierre et Miquelon issued one stamp in 2019 which shows us a shipwreck on Langlade.
Many ships have been wrecked on this island and the stamp shows us a not identified wreck of a wooden goéletté (schooner).

I have been many times in that vicinity and without a good radar or GPS it are dangers waters with severe weather conditions, special dense fog for days on end. Many times I could hardly see the bow of the vessel.
