Interested in Ships and Stamps? The Ship Stamp Society is an international society and publishes it’s journal, Log Book, six time a year.

The editor of Log book will retire this coming August and, unless a new one comes forward, the society will close.
With this in mind, we are not taking in any new members.
This is an unfortunate situation but seemingly unavoidable.

For the 110th anniversary of the death of the Dutch painter Johan Barthold Jongkind (1819-1891) , the French post issued one stamp which shows the entrance of the French port Honfleur during low tide. On the banks are a few ships depict which have fallen dry, the ships are not identified.
The watercolour was painted in 1864 and is now in the possession of the Museum de Louvre in Paris.
