HONFLEUR entrance by low tide

Post by aukepalmhof » Sun May 26, 2019 9:00 pm

For the 110th anniversary of the death of the Dutch painter Johan Barthold Jongkind (1819-1891)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johan_Jongkind , the French post issued one stamp which shows the entrance of the French port Honfleur during low tide. On the banks are a few ships depict which have fallen dry, the ships are not identified.
The watercolour was painted in 1864 and is now in the possession of the Museum de Louvre in Paris.
