NEUCHÂTEL inland passenger vessel.

Built as a paddlesteamer by Escher, Wyss AG, Zurich for Le Vieux Vapeur, Neuchâtel.
Displacement 153 ton. Dim. 48.5 x 6.00, including sponsons 11.0m.
Compound diagonal 350 steam engine, manufactured by Escher, Wyss AG, Zurich.
Accommodation for 550 passengers.
1912 Delivered under the name NEUCHÂTEL.

She was the last paddle steamer on Lake Neuchâtel but was used also on Lake Biel and Lake Morat.
1972 Withdrawn from service, engine and boilers removed. Moored in the harbour of Neuchâtel and used as a restaurant ship.
1999 Sold to another restauranteur.
2007 Sold to Trivapor for SFR 600.000 .
2012: New boilers and the Maffei-built engine (ex LUDWIG FESSLER) refurbished by SGV Shiptec were installed in the renovated hull at Sugiez. Compound Diagonal steam engines, 360 hp.
Renovation cost approximately 12 million Swiss Francs (approx £ 8 million) with around half provided by Mr. Marc Oesterle of Bern
The first trial runs were completed on September 12th, 2013
Neuchatel's inaugural 2014 season ended early after boiler problems on August 14th with the Italian manufacturer (Garioni Naval) having gone into bankruptcy
She is to be operated by Sociétié de Navigation sur les Lacs de Neuchâtel et Morat (LNM) as part of their scheduled services for three years and reviewed at the end of that period.
