The stamp for the National Police Day 1982 in Oman shows us a police patrol boat which has been identified from a picture in Jane’s 1979-80 page 377 as the HARAS 5.
Built by Vosper Thornycroft, Singapore for the Royal Oman Police.
November 1978 commissioned as the HARAS 5 one of the Haras class of which 5 were built.
Tonnage 45 tons full load, dim. 22.9 x 6 x 1.5m.
Two Caterpillar D348 diesels, twin screws, 1,840hp, speed 24.5 knots.
Armament: 1 – 20mm Oerlikon AA.
Crew 11.
A new class of patrol boat has been built in the meantime, that I think she is not more in service.
Fate unknown.
