Built-in 1930 by Verschure &Co, Amsterdam for the Veluwse Stoomvaart Maatschappij N.V., Amsterdam.
Launched as the IJSSEL, named after the IJssel River.
Tonnage 170 ton. Dim. 49.89 x 7.30 x 1.80m (draught)
Powered by a 275 ihp steam engine. Later fitted with a 350 hp Stork diesel engine, and is now fitted out with a 520 hp MTU diesel engine.
Passenger capacity of 400 persons.
Could carry also cargo.
Rebuilt in 1956 to only passenger vessel.

1942 Sold to Koppe Reederij N.V. Amsterdam, not renamed.
1943 Renamed by owners in IJSSELSTROOM.
1964 Renamed by owners in J.H.D.KOPPE.
1973 Sold to Mulder Maatschappij BV at Apeldoorn, renamed in SCHERPENHOF.
1975 Sold to F.J. van der Lee in Enkhuizen, renamed PAX IV.
1976 Renamed by owners in STAD ENKHUIZEN.
1993 Sold to MS Jan Nieveen BV, Amsterdam, renamed in COLUMBUS.
1995 Sold to Holland Party Cruise BV, Amsterdam, not renamed.
2011 Sold to F. van Terwisga & N.J.G van Meeteren Vof, Kerkdriel, Netherlands, not renamed.
2019 In service, same name and owners.
On the postmark is given “ The Columbus egg is the COLUMBUS on it IJ” (IJ River info by Wikipedia
The postmark has the date 02 10 90 at that time the ship was still named STAD ENKHUIZEN, but there is only one passenger ship on the Binnenvaart website which has the name COLUMBUS, somewhere is a mistake made. ... umbus.html
