J.H. Pierneef https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacobus_Hendrik_Pierneef was a South African Artist.

He is remembered and honored as the first South African artist to execute a strong personal perception of the local landscape, which he loved intensely and interpreted nobly.
South Africa issued a set of four stamps on 3 August 1989 featuring the works of Pierneef. The 30c stamp depicts the casein painting “Zanzibar”, in which local boats are featured. The three larger craft showing dhows, most probably “jahazi” type craft. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12001&p=14121&hilit=jahazi#p14121
