POLISH MEDIEVAL GALLEON

Post by aukepalmhof » Mon Feb 10, 2020 6:47 pm

For the 400th anniversary of the Polish Postage, Poland issued in 1958 a set of stamps of which one stamp shows us a medieval ship and two silhouettes of modern ships.
The medieval ship is most probably a galleon. Stanley Gibbons ships on stamps catalogue give a ”Kogge”, but a “cog” has only one mast and the stamp shows a three-mast vessel.
