LIZA DESTINY FPSO

The stamp issued by Guyana in 2019 shows us the Floating Production Storage and Offloading Vessel (FPSO), LIZA DESTINY which was built as a tanker in 1999.

Built as a tanker under yard No 1114 by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co, in Ulsan, South Korea for Orinoco Shipping Co. Lit, in Chios, Greece.
24 March 1987 building contract signed.
08 August 1998 laid down.
12 December 1998 launched as the CHRISTINA.
Tonnage 158,110 grt, 109,865 net, 309,344 dwt, dim 334.5 x 58.0m, length bpp 320.0m.
Loading capacity 344,468 m³.
Powered by a 7-cyl.Sulzer 7RTA84T-8 engine manufactured by the shipbuilder, 33,260 hp, speed 16 knots.
12 February 1999 completed. IMO No 9175080. Under Greek flag and registry, managed by S.Livanos (Hellas) S.A. Piraeus.

2006 Managed by Sun Enterprises Ltd, Piraeus.
22 April 2014 renamed in TINA.
22 May 2014 sold to Single Buoy Moorings Inc. Under Bahamas flag and registry, managed by SBM Production Contractors Inc., in Marly, Switzerland.
17 January 2016 managed by SBM Production Contractors Inc. and Bernhard Schulte Singapore Pte. Ltd.
March 2016 managed by Heidmar Inc. and Bernhard Schulte Singapore Pte. Ltd.
November 2017 managed by SBM Production Contractors Inc, Marly, Switzerland.
The Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) TINA i was selected by SBM Offshore for the conversion. The conversion phase began in November 2017 with the tanker arrival at Keppel shipyard as announced Nov 14, 2017.
24 May 2017 a contract was signed between Single Buoy Moorings Inc. and Keppel Shipyard in Singapore for the rebuilding the vessel in a FPSO.
22 June 2019, rename LIZA DESTINY, christened at the Keppel yard by Mrs. Sandra Granger the First Lady of Guyana.
July 2019 delivered by the yard to owners. Tonnage 160,561 grt. The FPSO is designed to produce up to 120,000 barrels of oil per day. It will have associated gas treatment capacity of circa 170 million cubic feet per day and water injection capacity of circa 200,000 barrels per day. The converted VLCC FPSO will be moored in water depth of 1,525 meters and will be able to store 1.6 million barrels of crude oil.
Under Bahamas flag and registry.

SBM Offshore announced that FPSO LIZA DESTINY has produced first oil as of December 20, 2019 and is formally on hire. The FPSO is installed at the Liza field, which is located circa 200 km offshore Guyana in the Stabroek block. ExxonMobil affiliate Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Limited is operator and holds 45% interest in the Stabroek Block. Hess Guyana Exploration Ltd. holds 30% interest and CNOOC Petroleum Guyana Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC Limited, holds 25% interest
