VIKINGS fishing trawler 1965

The fishing trawler depicts on this St Pierre et Miquelon stamp is the VIKINGS out of Fécamp France.
Built as a stern trawler under yard 551 by Lubeker Flender Werke, Lubeck, Germany for the Les Pecheries de Fécamp, France.
09 February 1965 launched as the VIKINGS.
Tonnage 1,798 grt, 1,750 dwt, dim. 80 x 12.5 x 4.80m (draught), length bpp 70.0m.
Powered diesel electric by 3 MAN 965 kW engines, one shaft, speed 15 knots.
She was fitted out with filleting, drying, and freezing equipment below deck.
Has a capacity of 600 ton, with a daily production of 40-ton codfish. Her capacity to make fishmeal from her bycatch is 25 ton.
May 1965 completed. IMO No 6510679, homeport Fécamp.

1976 Sold to P/R Brodrene Kristiansen, Kristiansund N, Norway, renamed in NORVIKING.
1980 Sold to K/S A/S Rig Viking, Aalesund, renamed in LEON MIGAUX.
1987 Sold to K/S Sandoy Viking, Aalesund, renamed SANDOY VIKING.
The same year sold to Ocean Viking B.V., Vlissingen (Flushing), Netherlands, renamed OCEAN VIKING. She was converted into a factory vessel.
1989 Sold to Balder Nieuwland B,V, Vlissingen, Renamed in SCALLOPER.
1991 Sold to Sevrybkholodflot, Murmansk, Russia, not renamed.
2006 Was she broken up.
