Cape Bojador rounded by G. Eanes - Located on the West Coast of Africa, on the Atlantic Ocean, It has its highest part at 23 meters above sea level. Until 1434 not anything on a country south of Cabo Bojador was known in the northern hemisphere beyond Cabo Bojador, whose name was given to it by the first navigators.

In the year 1434, Cabo Bojador was rounded for the first time by Gil Eanes, on the orders of Infante D. Henrique. By royal letter of 22 October 1443. Don Afonso V determined that if he didn't go to the lands beyond Bojador without a license from Infante Donna Henrique. By letter on 25 February 1449 Don Afonso V made a donation to Infante Donna Henrique of the rights on goods coming from the lands between Cabo Cantim and Cabo Bojador. On 7 June 1494 a contract was signed between Don Fernando and Donna Isabel, kings of Castile, and Don João de Portugal, on fisheries rights from Cape Bojador to Rio do Ouro.
The stamp shows us a sea-monster and a drawing of Gil Eanes and in the background the sails of a caravel, which is wrong Eanes used a “barinel” when he rounded Cabo Bojador, which has a square sail. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15302&p=17664&hilit=gil+eanes#p17664
