SAUDADOES Royal Yacht

She was built as a sixth rate warship by the Master Shipwright Anthony Deane at the Portsmouth Dry-dock, Portsmouth for the Royal Navy.
28 October 1669 launched as the SAUDADOES
Tonnage 83 ton (bm), dim. 51.6 ft. length of keel, beam 17.6ft, depth 8.0 ft.
Armament when built 8 – 6 inch.
Crew 40 maximum.
06 November 1669 commissioned, under command of Capt. Nicholas Hill.

1673 Rebuilt at Deptford Dry-dock by Master Shipwright Jonas Shish.
Tonnage 180 ton (bm), dim. 74ft length of keel, beam 21.6ft, depth, 10.0ft.
Armament 16 – 6 pdr. guns.
1673 After her rebuilt she was a unit of Narbrough’s squadron sailing to Lisbon.

1676 On Queen’s service as Royal Yacht till ?

1677 Was she already again in Royal Navy service.
1679 To Scotland, 1680 service in English Channel.
20 June 1685 took part in the capture of Monmouth’s ships. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monmouth_Rebellion
01 May 1689 used as fire-ship in the Battle of Bantry Bay.
19 - 24 May 1692 took part in the Battle of Barfleur
14 February 1694 sailed for the Mediterranean.

05 August 1695 under command of Capt. Thomas Day captured by two large French privateers on the north coast of France, after capture she was set on fire and was lost.
