For the 150th anniversary of the King Williams College in Castletown, Isle of Man, the Man Post issued in 1983 four stamps showing the building and formerly famous students of this college, the 10p stamp shows us Nick Keig the skipper of the catamaran THREE LEGS OF MAN(N) III the yacht is also depict on the stamp.
She was built in 1978 as the third catamaran for skipper Nick Keig in Douglas after a design made by Derek Kelsall Catamarans.
Length 16.60m.
Sail area under full sail 160m³.
Auxiliary engine, one Perkins 50 hp diesel engine.
Accommodation for 4 persons in two double cabins.
Material, polyester.

1978 Finished 2nd in Round Britain Race, and in 1980 finished 2nd in Observer Single-Handed Transatlantic Race.

1984 She was sold to the French owner Bernard Deguy, who gives:
"THREE LEGS OF MAN" is a catamaran, designed by Kelsall and built by Nick Keig on the Isle of Man in 1977, it is the result of a long collaboration since Nick Keig had already had his 2 previous trimarans designed by the same architect.
So between them, the architect and the sailor, they had been able to eliminate the faults of the first two over the course of their experiences.
This 16m trimaran, I discovered it in the Irish Sea at anchor in April 1981 after she had done the Transat and finished Second.
Three years later, I bought it on behalf of a company and skipped it for 2 years in order to follow the multihull races live with journalists on board:
- Tour de l'Europe in 1987
- Quebec ./ St Malo in 1988 (several thousand miles with 5 or 6 people on board at an average speed of 8/9 knots!
- Sailing school in Glénans for 1 year
- Road du Rhum with Anne Liardet in 1990
- Crossed the Altantique in 1991
- Sailing in Brittany for 1 year.

Later sold to the Frenchman Francis Bachèlerie who carried out major maintenance work before he sold her to Xavier Pèrètiè, who installed two solar panels, 2 wind-turbines and carried out an epoxy treatment.

I believe he is still the French owner in 2020, and carries still the name THREE LEGS OF MAN III.
