Built as Damen OPV 9014 (DN2000) design as a patrol boat by Song Thu Corp. at Da Nang for the Vietnamese Coastguard.

The most prominent is the CSB 8001 class the lead ship of this class (design symbol DN-2000 ) manufactured by Song Thu shipyard in Da Nang according to the design of Damen (Netherlands) which was received by the Coast Guard on October 23, 2012. This is considered to be the most modern patrol boat in the area. DN-2000 has a length of 90m, a width of 14m, a draft of 4m, and a full load of 2,561 tons. The ship is equipped with 4 main engines (4x2,240 kW) with 2 propeller shafts, 2 advancing propellers allowing a maximum speed of 21.3 knots. The ship is capable of operating in wind conditions of Beaufort force 12, continuous time at sea is 40 days and nights, a range of 5,000 miles.
The crew of the ship consists of 70 people (in which the crew is 40 people, the rescue crew is 30 people). In addition, the ship can carry more people in distress or transfer troops up to 120 people. DN-2000 can transport: fuel for ships 270m 3, cargo fuel 100m 3, fuel for helicopters 10m 3, fresh water for ships 50m 3. In addition, the vessel can tow other ships with displacement of up to 2,200 tons. The stern has a flight deck that allows a 14-ton helicopter to land.
In terms of armament, because it was a law enforcement ship, only one 23 mm cannon was fitted in front of the bridge and an anti-aircraft machine gun in the amidships of the ship. Besides, the ship is equipped with two spray guns and many modern rescue equipment.
