CANOEING OFF RAIVAVAE ISLAND.

Post by aukepalmhof » Thu Jan 21, 2021 7:34 pm

The stamp shows us a canoe with an outboard motor, looks that she is used for fishing. Have not any info on the type of canoe. By the stamp is given:

The myth of French Polynesia has bewitched travelers for generations. Like a postcard, the landscape of our 118 islands never ceases to make us dream by its diversity.

Floating like clouds on the ocean, the atolls, these small islands of coral lands with pristine white beaches and turquoise waters lagoon, have sparse vegetation. On the contrary, the high islands are formed of deep valleys with waterfalls hidden by exuberant vegetation. They carried away the adventurer with these black sand beaches of volcanic origin, but also surprise by white sand beaches on the neighboring coast.

Raivavae
Raivavae is part of the Australis Archipelago and is located 630 km southeast of Tahiti. This island is inhabited by only 950 people in four villages. Beyond its wild beauty, its population is an example of Polynesian kindness and conviviality. The lives of these men and women are simply as if suspended out of time, away from the race of a world of madness.
