The ships of the CMA-CGM rivers series form a series of container ships from the French shipping company CMA CGM.

History
The 28-ship series was commissioned by CMA CGM in China. The series is built by the Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company in Dalian and New Times Shipbuilding in Jiangsu. All ships are named after rivers. The lead ship of the class is the CMA CGM DANUBE, which was put into service at the end of June 2014. The series is used partly on the service called Bosporus Express between Asia and the Black Sea. In 2021 she is on this service.

Technology
The double-hulled ships are a little below the ULCS size. In terms of shipbuilding, apart from the significantly shorter length of the ship, they are designed to be comparable to almost all ULCS designs - the engine system is arranged aft and the deckhouse far forward, which enables an improved line of sight and thus a higher front deck loading. Below the superstructure, among other things, the bunker tanks are arranged to comply with the applicable MARPOL-Fulfill regulations. The propulsion system with the main engine is located far aft. Two-stroke diesel engines of the type MAN B&W 9S90ME-C9 are used, which are supplied by a South Korean licensee. To improve maneuverability, transverse thrusters are arranged in the bow and stern. The holds of the ships are closed with pontoon hatch covers. The ships have a maximum container capacity between 9,400 and 10,900 TEU, with an average container weight of fourteen tons, the capacity is reduced. There are also connections for integral refrigerated containers.
