NARRANGANSETT

Built in 1903 by Scott & Co., Greenock, #376, for Anglo-American Oil Co. Ltd., Greenock.
Tanker, Gt:9196, Loa:156.06m. B:19.20m. D:9.91m. 6 single boilers, 18 corrugated furnaces, 3 cyl. triple expansion steam engine built by Scott Shipbuilding & Engineering Co., Greenock:790 nhp. 14 kn.
On March 16th, 1917, on a voyage from New York to London with a cargo of lubricating oil, she was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-44 (Paul Wagenführ), southwest of Ireland. 46 persons were lost, including the captain.
