Discovery of Brazil by Pedro Alvares Cabral in 1500.
On the orders of the Portuguese King Manuel, arrangements were immediately made to begin the assembly of a second armada in Cascais, after the fleet of Vasco da Gama returned in Portugal.
Determined not to repeat Gama's mistakes, this fleet was to be a large and well-armed fleet of 13 ships and 1500 men, laden with valuable gifts and diplomatic letters to win over the potentates of the east.

Many details of the composition of the fleet are missing. Only three-ship names are known. The name of Pedro Alvares Cabral flagship is unknown. Most probably a carrack of around 200 tons.

09 MARCH 1500 the fleet of 13 ships left the Tagus River and anchored on 22 April 1500 in the mouth of the Rio Frades, Brazil.

The stamp shows us the arrival of the fleet in Brazil, only two unknown vessels of the fleet are visible.
