The postage stamp issued by West Germany on 05 May 1989 commemorating the 800th anniversary of the Port of Hamburg in 1989. The stamp shows us four harbor tugs, two harbor tugs are visible, and the other two only show the tow lines assisting a tanker in the harbor, in front of the ship is a firefighting vessel saluting the incoming tanker in the harbor. The sailing ship on the left is the well-known RICKMAR RICKMERS. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9392

The tanker is given as the TSURUMI but comparing with a photo she can’t be the ship depict on the stamp. She was in 1989 an oil tanker and refitted much later in an ore carrier.

The tugs and the firefighting vessel are not identified.

West Germany 1989 60pf sg 2273, Scott 1575.
