Kaohsiung City port.

Post by aukepalmhof » Sun Aug 08, 2021 7:59 pm

In 2021 the Taiwan Post issued four stamps on famous sites of Kaohsiung City, one stamp shows us the port of the city Kaohsiung, with on the left of the stamp cargo vessels moored on buoys waiting for cargo, while on the right moored alongside the quay many cargo vessels loading or discharging. Have not any details on the vessels.

By this stamp the Taiwan Post gives the following information:
Continuing the series of Taiwan Scenery postage stamps beginning in 2016, Chunghwa Post has released a new set of these stamps on four famous sites in Kaohsiung City.
The Port of Kaohsiung (NT$15): Located at the extreme southwestern corner of Kaohsiung, it is the main port and distribution center for Taiwan’s exports and imports, where shipping channels of the Taiwan Strait meet those of the Bashi Channel. Here giant cargo ships, naval vessels, and fishing boats shuttle in and out of the port’s blue waters, as shipments are swallowed, disgorged, loaded, and transferred in the port’s container yards. The busyness of this harbour scene is truly special and a delight to behold!
More info on the port is given on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_of_Kaohsiung
