Vaterland
On the 60 pf stamp is the motorship Vaterland ultra-modern looking, the funnel of course being a dummy for appearance sake. She is owned by Reederei Bruno Winkler, of Berlin, and is registered to carry 700 persons.

Re: Vaterland
Built between 1964/65 as an inland passenger ship by Schiffswerft Oberkassel in Bonn-Beudel, West Germany for Reederei Bruno Winkler in West Berlin.
Launched as VATERLAND.
Fully loaded 128 dwt., dim. 43.45 x 7.65m.
One diesel engine 310 hp, speed 22 km/h.
Accommodation for 700 day passengers.
When delivered she was the largest inland passenger ship playing in the waters of West Berlin..
Winter 1976/77 lengthened by 4 metres at the yard of Schmidt in Oberwinter, Germany.
2010 Could not find more a trace of the VATERLAND, she is not more sailing under that name by Reederei Bruno Winkler.
