PROFESOR SIEDLECKI

Built as a fishery research vessel under yard No 597 by Stocznia Gdanska, Gdansk for the Polish Government.
31 October 1970 launched under the name PROFESOR SIEDLECKI she was a type B424/01 vessel.
Tonnage 2.798 gross, 997 net, 1.111dwt. Dim. 89.3 x 15.0 x 5.5m., length bpp 80.0m.
Powered by three 8-cyl vee oil Fiat SGM diesel, driving three generators connected to two electric motors geared to a single shaft, speed 14 knots.
Five holds and four derricks.
1971 Delivered. Managed by it Morski Instytut Rybacki.

1975 – 1976 Took part in the first Polish oceanographic expedition in the Antarctic seas.
From 1981 till 1987 took part in three expeditions in the international research project BIOMASS to the west Antarctic.
From 1988 till 1989 in an expedition as part of an international research project Antarctic Sea-Ice-Zone (ASIZ) in the northern part of the Weddell Sea.

06 April 1992 arrived at Alang for breaking up.

The person depict is A.B. Dobrowolski 1872 – 1954, a Polish geophysicist and glaciologist, who participated in the Belgian Antarctic Expedition (1877-1879).
