She was built as a cargo vessel under yard no 199 by Napier & Miller Ltd. Glasgow, -for
the Clan Line Steamers, Ltd. (Cayzer Irvine Co., Ltd.), Glasgow.
Launched under the name CLAN RANALD.
Tonnage 5.447 gross, 3.446 net, 8.766 dwt., dim. 409.1 x 54.0 x 31.5ft.
One 3-cyl. triple expansion steamengine, manufactured by J.G.Kincaid Co. Ltd.,
Greenock, 538 nhp. one screw, speed 8.8 knots.
March 1917 delivered to owners.
27-02-1933 In collission with the French steamer PSYCHE in Oran Harbour.
1944 Sold to British a So. America Steam Nav. Co. Ltd. (Houston Line (London), Ltd., Glasgow.
1947 Sold to Pace Bross (G.O.Till mgr.), Glasgow, registered at Valetta, Malta, renamed VALETTA CITY.
1949 Transferred to Pace Bros., Valetta, Malta.
1951 Sold to Soc. di Nav,"Vecchia Genova", Genoa. Renamed LA VALETTA.
1953 Sold to Pala & Franceschine, Genoa, not renamed.
25-03-1958 Laid up at La Spezia, Italy and sold July 1958 to the breakers there, demolition work commenced the same month.
