Built as a cargo vessel under yard No 393 by Short Bross, Ltd., Sunderland, England for the English & American Shipping Co. Ltd. (C.T.Bowring & Co., Ltd.) London.
24 November 1916 launched under the name ADRA.
Tonnage 4.860 gross, 2.996 net, 4.466 dwt. Dim. 385.0 x 53.o x 27.3ft.
One 3-cyl. triple expansion steam engine 369 nhp., speed?
February 1917 delivered to owners.

Most probably used for world wide tramping.
1919 Transferred to Bowring S.S. Co. Ltd., London still managed by C.T. Bowring & Co.

1933 Sold to Manuel Hadjilias at Syra, under Greek flag and registry, renamed IA (without II as given on stamp).
12 July 1940 torpedoed by U-99 in a position 51N 14W on a voyage from Rosario to Cork, loaded with 6.666 tons wheat and 750 bags of pollards.
Three of her crew of 30 were killed.
